I drove up the pass from Denver to spend the night camping in the mountains with friends. We hiked up at midnight, climbed in the light of the full moon, and gathered around the fire to stay warm. We caught up on life, talked about Jesus, and laughed about how strange our paths are weaved into this tapestry of humanity. There are some days that I awake, uncertain of what life may hold for me. I'm extremely thankful for these moments with friends when fear of the unknown is banished and I'm filled with encouragement and love. Nights like these remind you when you're doubting that you matter, especially to Him who keeps the Universe stable.

Back to more Central America photos. On this part of the trip we began to trek inland and ended up on the Pacific side before catching a flight home. The little boy in the photos towards the end was the hostel cooks son in Nicaragua. When we arrived he was sleeping on a yoga mat and as we signed in he began to stir. He started stretching and threw himself into a few yoga poses. We watched him curiously until he stopped and wanted to play. He would walk around, steal our noses, and throw them out into the jungle! We couldn't stop laughing and smiling with him as he played tricks and giggled. More friends, more hostels, more oceans, hope you enjoy!
This last spring I had the opportunity to go sailing from Mexico to Guatemala with two of my cousins and a friend. When I arrived they revealed that they had had a terrible trip sailing in from Cuba and that they wouldn't be moving from Isla Mujeres, Mexico, for three solid weeks. With only a month and a half to travel my cousins and I spent the next two days trying to make a decision. On the third day we took off to backpack, ride chicken busses, stay in hostels, and take advice from locals and other travelers. What a fun and crazy trip that ensued. After all was said and done we had traveled through Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, skipped El Salvador and Honduras via an extremely long bus ride, spent some time in Nicaragua, and finished our trek in Costa Rica. We met amazing characters from all parts of the globe, ate the most amazing food, swam in the bluest of oceans, slacklined across beaches, rode bikes to cenotes, and even crashed a birthday party on the beach. Elopement at Hanging Lake? Yes, please. Hanging Lake is my all time favorite place to take friends and family who visit. The hike to get to the hidden gem is fairly mild and fun, plus you're surrounded by waterfalls and foliage the entire way up. This area never gets old and I'm always in awe of the beauty surrounding it. I might add that it's also the most perfect setting to get eloped in. This adventurous couple hiked up early, spent time getting ready in the woods, and proclaimed their vows under a waterfall in a secluded nook made from tree roots growing around towering rocks. After the ceremony and with no time constraints we were able to scour the area and take as many photos as we desired. Alli and Sean were up to get creative, even if it meant crossing streams and stepping onto precarious logs that were slick with moss. When we finally came down from the lake we regrouped in Glenwood Springs for an afternoon appetizer and drinks before they were whisked away to a romantic dinner and the end of a beautiful day.
